A writer, forty-something, with a colorful professional and romantic history and a Jeep not yet torched for the insurance money.
What we all want - love, $20 for gas, and for someone to write fan fiction about characters and worlds Sam created.
The Eighth Warning is out now. You can find it here.
Yes. It's quite routine, something about a jungle of reflective silver... or... honestly, we're not sure. Our eyes glaze over when he talks about it.
Lawyers have informed Sam that the right answer is no. Between us, though - probably. Sam's just not that creative.
Sam has been spotted in Irish pubs and small, WiFi-enabled cafes... but maybe the real Sam is the friends you made along the way.
Tsk. Tsk. This is neither the time nor the place for that, m'dear.
We have it on good authority that Sam is, "undateable," but he has been seen in the company of a beautiful redheaded Valkyrie who wears an engagement ring.
Sam Odiorne was born in New England to a compassionate mother and a logical father, and by all accounts, he has never recovered. He dislikes talking about himself but when pressed, will tell you that he loves old whiskey, new cities, baby rhinos, and you. Sam can be found on all the usual social medias under his somewhat unusual name.
He began writing fiction in elementary school when Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman killed his favorite character in a Dragonlance novel, nearly causing him to forswear reading and writing of every kind. Fortunately, a sympathetic English teacher let him in on the little-known fact that any old person can rewrite the end of a book, stick it in the back cover, and switch to their own version when they reach the part, "the authors got wrong."
Unsatisfied with writing only endings, Sam thought he would try his hand at writing the beginnings and middles of stories as well. He has been creating worlds, cultures, characters, and moments ever since, and occasionally references writing as his, "longest relationship." He has written stories on three continents to the soundtracks of machine gun fire and mortar explosions, the hum of midnight traffic on I-10, and the dulcet tones of such inspiring musicians as Lorde, the Pretty Reckless, and Dermott Kennedy.
Sam's work spans several genres and much of it will never see the light in another reader's eyes, but his desk drawer brims with half-completed manuscripts that brought him much joy (or contentment, or catharsis) to draft. His first book released to public consumption, "The Eighth Warning," hit shelves in September 2021, and delighted tens of readers worldwide.
